The Usfans QC finder is powerful but easy to misuse. Beginners either accept every photo (overconfident) or reject anything imperfect (paranoid). The confidence score method fixes both.
Score every QC on a 1–10 scale
After looking at a QC photo, score it 1–10 based on how confident you are that the item is worth shipping:
- 9–10: Ship immediately.
- 7–8: Ship, but note any minor issues for future reference.
- 5–6: Request another photo before deciding.
- 3–4: Reject, but check if it is a repairable issue.
- 1–2: Reject immediately. Wrong item or unrepairable defect.

The threshold rule
Do not ship items scoring below 7. That is your floor. Items in the 5–6 band need more photos. Items below 5 get rejected. The threshold is calibrated so about 10–15% of QCs would land here — matching the community reject rate.
What raises confidence
- Consistent stitching, symmetrical logos.
- Correct outsole pattern on shoes.
- Correct color under natural light.
- Multiple photos from different angles.
What lowers confidence
- Blurry photos where you cannot judge detail.
- Only one photo when the item has complexity.
- Color visibly off from retail reference.
- Any visible glue, uneven padding, or off-center print.
The two-QC rule
Even a 9-scored QC benefits from a second opinion. If community QC threads have another photo of the same listing from a different buyer, review it before shipping. Two independent 8+ scores is stronger signal than one 10.
Score consistency over time
Keep a private log of QC scores. After 20 orders you will have your own calibration — you will notice you tend to score more strictly on shoes than shirts, or more leniently on colorways. Adjust your threshold accordingly.
